In the year 2008, the original members of Dru Hill started to tour around with their producer, Keith Sweat. Jazz made guest appearances on other artists' tracks such as Montell Jordan, Musiq, Case, Kim Waters, and Stevie J. Some songs became part of films like Rush Hour 2 and Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. Three songs called Housewife, War, and Damn were put on promotional mixtapes. While in hiatus from Dru Hill, Jazz recorded a solo album in the traditional R&B genre, but Def Jam refused to release the entire album.
